Katy has practised criminal law since 2006 as an Accredited Police Station Representative and has previously worked for a reputable Manchester law firm for over 15 years prior to joining MBC solicitors in 2019, returning to the firm in 2026.
Katy has extensive experience representing clients across a wide spectrum of offences within the police station, from theft to the most serious allegations, including murder.
Katy adopts a robust and proactive approach, particularly when advising and representing clients at the police station. Katy has a sound and practical knowledge of the Bail Act and is experienced in advising clients on their rights and position at the earliest stages of a case. Katy is also passionate about advocating for vulnerable adults and children with Mental Health issues and Diagnoses during the early investigation stage and advocates on their behalf.
In addition, Katy works within the Crown Court department, preparing cases for Crown Court proceedings and ensuring that matters are progressed with diligence and care.
Katy also holds a degree in midwifery. The knowledge gained from this qualification ignites a passion and a drive of supporting vulnerable women during criminal proceedings, which informs a thoughtful and sensitive approach with excellent communication skills.
