Megan is a Trainee Solicitor and was called to the Bar in 2022 after completing her postgraduate qualification in the Bar Training Course at Manchester Metropolitan University. Prior to this Megan studied LLB Law (Hons) at Leeds Beckett University. Throughout her studies Megan developed a passion for criminal law and wished to explore this further.
During her studies Megan was employed as an Appropriate Adult, assisting young people and vulnerable adults throughout the custody and criminal justice processes. Advocating on behalf of the vulnerable individuals in police custody.
After joining MBC Megan obtained her Police Station Accreditation allowing her to represent individuals during their police interviews. She has been exposed to a full range of offences from shoplifting to fraud and murder. Megan is skilled and experienced in offering appropriate advice and advocating for clients when necessary.
Megan has experience assisting colleagues in Magistrates Court and Crown Court cases, assisting with all aspects in the preparation of trials. Megan is currently complexing her CILEX Advanced Paralegal portfolio which will allow her to become a Chartered Legal Executive with rights of audience in the Magistrates Court. She then further intends to become a Higher Court Advocate allowing her to represent those charged with criminal offences in the Crown Court and Higher Courts of England and Wales.
Megan prides herself on her ability to communicate with clients and provide the compassion and support necessary throughout what is a difficult process for many.
